Joy of Kaleidoscopes and Learning

Hope Springs Eternal when I watch people learn, when I feel and see their joy.

Recently, while shopping online there was a pop-up ad.

I usually try to ignore those.

This time, it got me and lead to this post.

This advertisement for a kaleidoscope reminds me of that joy of discovery.

Look around your table. Look on the floor. Look in drawers.

Look in your teacher bag of tricks, a backpack and a basement.

Look on your porch, lawn and sidewalk. Be safe, too.

Pick up a few items.

You can make a kaleidoscope with an empty toilet paper tube, some tape or a rubber band, construction paper and clear plastic wrap. You may choose to order a kit or buy one at a local store.

Once you make one, it’s just the beginning.

We don’t outgrow the joy of the view.

The photo of the wooden kaleidoscope is from the Amazon ad. I took the other photos to show you the view inside my 20-year-old kaleidoscope.

Whether you home school, un-school, day school, traditional school or you are a parent, guardian or nanny, what’s your view?

I invite you to make a kaleidoscope and share your joy in the comments.

Off to take a peek!
